An-CO supplied over 400 tonnes of scaffolding to St Marys Station, including the large birdcage that supported the architectural precast installation and provided access for the precast plank works. What set them apart was that they came with the plant to match, including telehandlers, forklifts and scissor lifts that complemented their own works rather than adding to our coordination load.
All access was built to be craneable in stretchers, so it moved cleanly with the tower cranes and kept the site working around it. Overall, the works were well planned and well executed by a team that clearly understood a live station environment.
Central Station was a top-down build, which meant our scaffolding requirements changed constantly and rarely in a straight line. An-CO handled it. They supplied the FRP contractor on a programme that left no room for delay, then carried the same standard through the mechanical fit-out for all ventilation works.
That was reactive work under commissioning conditions and permit requirements, where access had to be available on the day it was needed. They also managed site access for our own teams throughout.
Across a project this complex, having a scaffolding partner who understood the sequencing and simply kept pace made a real difference.
The Australian Museum project presented a number of challenging access and logistical constraints, and An-CO worked closely with RMW throughout the project to develop and deliver the required scaffold and mast climber solutions. Their team was responsive, practical, and willing to work through issues as they arose, particularly where site conditions required changes to the original access approach. The scaffold and mast climber systems were delivered safely and effectively, providing the access required to complete the façade works.
